In the East, rabbits are gifted with wisdom and symbolize abundance, prosperity, and longevity. They are also believed to be the spirits of the moon because they are deeply related to the moon. In the West, rabbits have various meanings, but they are most related to Easter, the biggest holiday. The Easter Bunny, which is celebrated as the biggest holiday, symbolizes vitality and hope, and wishes for abundance and fertility in the year.

To me, the bunny is a cute and curious friend, jumping toward dreams and hope. Bunnies appear in my birthday card art to celebrate people’s birthdays and share joy together.

동양에서는 토끼가 지혜를 지닌 존재로 영특한 동물이며 풍요, 번창, 장수를 상징합니다. 또한 토끼가 달과 관련이 깊어 달의 정령으로 믿고 있습니다. 서양에서는 토끼가 아무래도 최대 명절인 부활절과 관련이 가장 큽니다. 최대 명절로 기념하는 부활절 토끼는 생명력, 희망을 상징하고, 한 해의 풍요와 다산을 기원합니다.

저에게 토끼는 꿈과 희망을 향해 점프하는 호기심 많고 귀여운 친구입니다. 그런 토끼 친구들이 사람들의 생일을 축하해주고 기쁨을 함께 나누기 위해 제 작업에 등장합니다.

Birthday Card Materials

Handmade birthday cards are drawn and colored by me with colored pencils. I used Tombow colored pencils that I bought more than 30 years ago, and the paper is the papaer is a CERGIO colored pencils sketchbook from Shinhan Commerce. It’s a little thicker than the ARTISTS 100 CROQUIS SKETCH BOOK I used before.

핸드 메이드 생일 카드는 제가 직접 색연필로 그리고 색칠합니다. 구입한지 30년이 훨씬 지난 Tombow 색연필을 사용했고 종이는 신한커머스의 CERGIO 색연필 전용 스케치북입니다. 이전에 사용했던 ARTISTS 100 CROQUIS SKETCH BOOK 보다 조금 더 두꺼워요.

Warm Wishes Through a Handmade Card

A Card to celebrate Kids birthday isn’t just a piece of paper. In particular, a handmade card drawn by hand is a medium that conveys warmth and sincerity in itself. Each one is carefully drawn with colored pencils, preserving every gentle stroke. The design features a baby bunny, balloons, the number 3, birthday candles, and hearts, all working together in harmony.

The flying bunny, lifted by balloons, invites kids to dream. I want to give kids infinite possibilities and dreams of flying in the sky, and to deliver joy and happiness.

1. Create and idea sketch / 아이디어 스케치를 합니다.
2. Arrange the necessary design elements in a layout / 필요한 디자인 요소 레이아웃을 배치합니다.
3. Outline the design with a pencil as a base / 연필로 밑그림을 그립니다.
4. Choose and arrange the colors for the design elements / 디자인 요소의 컬러를 구성합니다.
5. Finish the coloring with colored pencils to complete the analog card / 색연필로 색칠을 완료합니다(아날로그 카드 완성).
6. Scan and conbert it into a digital file / 스캔 후 디지털 파일화 작업을 진행합니다.
7. Design the digital card & envelope templates for the final product / 디지털 카드&봉투 템플릿을 제작합니다.
