The first birthday is one of the most special and emotional milestones in life. To celebrate this precious day, I created the 1st Bear Birthday Card(1 Year Old Birthday Card) with great care and love. It captures warmth, nature, animals, and a touch of playfulness, perfect for a first birthday or a one-year anniversary.

Drawn and colored entirely by hand with colored pencils, the card began as an analog creation and was later shared as a printable digital card on Etsy. I’m happy to share my work with you, starting with an analog card to a printable digital card that I sold on Etsy.

1st Bear Birthday Card(1 Year Old Birthday Card) is not only for celebrating the first birthdays of daughters, sons, grandsons, granddaughters, nephews, nieces, etc., but also for the most special 1st anniversary around us.

I colored it with colored pencils, hoping it would be a painting that would bless and bring joy to someone. This colored pencil product used in this drawing is Tombow 36 Color Pencil. Tombow is a famous Japanese stationery product brand and international company founded in 1913.

1st Bear Birthday Card는 첫 번째 생일을 맞이하는 딸, 아들, 손자, 손녀, 조카 등 뿐만 아니라, 우리 주위에서 가장 특별한 1주년을 기념하기 위한 것이기도 합니다.

사람들에게 축복과 기쁨을 주는 특별한 카드 그림은 주로 색연필로 작업을 합니다. 그림에 사용한 색연필 제품은 구입한지 30년도 훌쩍 넘긴 Tombow 36 Color Pencil인데요. Tombow는 일본의 유명 문구 브랜드로 1913년에 설립된 국제적인 기업이구요, 연필 제품들이 꽤 괜찮아요.

The paper is ARTIST 100 CROQUIS SKETCH BOOK produced by ‘Shinhan Commerce’ a Korean stationery company.

사용한 종이는 한국의 중소기업 ‘신한커머스’에서 제작한 ARTISTS 100 CROQUIS SKETCH BOOK. 아직은 종이 종류를 많이 쓰고 있지 않지만 앞으로 좀 더 다양하게 사용해보고 싶습니다.

Forest & Bear, Loverly Details

What makes this 1st birthday card truly special is use of a variety of colors to illustrate the forest, bear, cake, gift box, balloon, and ‘Happy Birthday’ title. Each small object, like the tiny crown placed on top of the number ‘1’ was carefully hand-drawn with attention to detail. Unlike a mechanical print, the warmth of hand-drawn illustrations brings a more heartfelt and personal touch to the card.

The baby bear has a sweet and innocent expression. Surrounded by the lush greenery of the forest and colorful flowers, the card creates a vibrant and joyful atmosphere to celebrate the baby bear’s first birthday.

1살 생일 카드의 가장 큰 특징은 숲, 곰, 케이크, 선물 박스, ‘Happy Birthday’ 타이틀까지 다양한 컬러를 사용했고, ‘1’이라는 숫자 위에 작고 귀여운 왕관을 올린 것과 같이 세심하게 작은 오브제들을 곳곳에 직접 그렸다는 점인데요. 기계적인 인쇄물이 아닌, 따뜻한 손길이 담이 일러스트의 정성은 조금 더 특별함을 전해줍니다.

1. Create and idea sketch / 아이디어 스케치를 합니다.
2. Arrange the necessary design elements in a layout / 필요한 디자인 요소 레이아웃을 배치합니다.
3. Outline the design with a pencil as a base / 연필로 밑그림을 그립니다.
4. Choose and arrange the colors for the design elements / 디자인 요소의 컬러를 구성합니다.
5. Finish the coloring with colored pencils to complete the analog card / 색연필로 색칠을 완료합니다(아날로그 카드 완성).
6. Scan and conbert it into a digital file / 스캔 후 디지털 파일화 작업을 진행합니다.
7. Design the digital card & envelope templates for the final product / 디지털 카드&봉투 템플릿을 제작합니다.
